Accessibility

The University of Derby Students' Union seeks to enable all students access to our web resources. A core part of our Constitution is to provide equal opportunities to all and therefore web accessibility is very important to us, both for legal and moral reasons.

We seek to validate all pages of our site to the W3C XHTML and CSS2 standards, and adhere to the W3C WAI guidelines. This means that the site should appear the same in all major browsers and the underlying code provides semantic context for its contents. This allows applications such as screen readers and programs designed to assist those with specific needs be able to access the information in the pages easily, and effectively. More information on these guidelines can be forund on the W3C website.

We are also committed to working as closely as possible with the UK Government's guidelines in the Disability Discrimination Act (1995)

We are always looking to improve and evolve our website so please contact our web designer on design@udsu.co.uk or our Equality & Diversity Co-Ordinator on sukhi.kainth@udsu.co.uk if you have any queries or would like to inform us of anything on this website you feel is detrimental to general accessibilty or causes a problem with your particular disability.
