You don’t have to get stressed about stuff, as students you can blag you’re way out of anything unless of course you leave it long enough and then it will just disappear.
Rubbish – although it’s a fair point that some students have mastered the art of the classic blag the majority can be seen straight through and facing up to your responsibilities is the only way to resolve them in the long run…. FACT they will catch up with you.

As a student you’ll get away with copying off a random website or book, your lecturers will never notice.
Wrong – they will notice believe me and the penalty you’ll pay really won’t be worth it. It’s also worth knowing that if you do get caught they are entitled to go over past papers if they have any doubt that it may have been over looked in previously.

You won’t get into trouble for not turning up to a lecture.
You might not think that lecturers notice you absence, especially in a room of crowded students, however there are registers available for this reason that you are expected to sign in on and a system in place to boot, where the universities retention team start getting in touch to find out where you’ve been. It’s also worth noting that many modules require you to have attended the vast majority of the lectures for you to pass.

It’s no use making a complaint because you’re just making your life ten times harder.
Not True - this is such a common concern that students raise with us, so let us reassure you once again that this won’t happen. The whole point of the Students’ Union offering an Advice Service is so that we can offer impartial support, guidance and representation for students whilst preventing recrimination and retribution against those who have been brave enough to stand up for themselves. Such circumstances would be deemed extremely serious by the University as well as the SU and would be dealt with accordingly.

Leaving a lecture after the first break counts as turning up.
Ummmm – good one but unfortunately its not the case, well at least it doesn’t count for full attendance anyway. A lot of lecturers have actually cottoned onto to this and have started taking the register again after each break, however even if they haven’t since you managed to drag yourself out of bed for the first half its probably a good idea to stick it out so that you at least have some idea as to what’s going on in line with your assessment.
