Within your Students’ Union there are many societies which you can join. Societies can provide you with the chance to increase your skills and social circle and are great for those amongst you who have a hobby or passion. Throughout the year, many societies put on events, fundraising and work with the local community so being part of a society can look fantastic on your CV.
A lot of societies focus tends to be as much about socialising as the society itself, with strong friendships being formed at a quick rate with all the societies’ members having at least one common interest.
To join a society you need to pop along to the Students' Union reception and fill in a membership form. There is a membership fee to pay to join each society, this is determined by the individual society but the minimum price is £3.
