Any student here at the University of Derby can get involved in the student magazine. Be it writing, photography, illustration or, if you don’t feel creative but want to help out, even proof reading (excellent for those training to be teachers - you can even use a red pen).
Our contributors are the people who bring life to the magazine, without them there would be nothing to read and Dusted wouldn’t exist. So, obviously, we’re always on the lookout for new talent and students willing to volunteer. Not only do you get your name in print, but it’s a great addition to your CV and something to send home to the parents.
If you’re interested in getting involved with Dusted then why not drop by to one of our contributors meetings; meet some of the team, have a chat with the VP Communications and the other contributors about what you want to do - or any ideas you have. It’s nothing formal, and being in the coffee shop, you can even keep warm over a nice hot drink.
Tracey has even put together a short article to give you some ideas of what kind of things you could write about. You can even write an article in your own time and submit it by email if you’re particularly busy - though we’d obviously suggest coming to the meetings and joining the social side for more feedback!
Finally, have a read over our online contributors guide. It should let you know everything you need to start drafting up that killer article or rave review.
