Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Q&A session for the Buxton Campus Committee Elections due to take place on Monday the 17th of May has been Cancelled.
Candidates will be asked to submit written answers to the questions to be asked which will be made available on the website.
For any queries, please contact the Chair of the Elections Monitoring Committee, Heather Morgan, on vpwelfare@udsu.co.uk.
The Buxton Campus Committee Elections allow you, the students, to decide on who will represent you on issues including:
There are hundreds of issues affecting all of you. Many of you will know people in your class, halls, sports team, society, group or workplace who have complained to you about an aspect of University life. As a student you have a right to complain, you have a right to be heard and you have a right to be represented.
Many of you have decided not to use this right because you choose to ignore this opportunity. University is sold to you as an opportunity, from day one, and when you arrive you are told to maximise this opportunity.
What you are not told is to demand a level of service by those to whom you pay your money; and just because a number of you do not pay directly from your own pocket and one day you will have to give this borrowed money back.
The Students' Union Elections are your opportunity to vote for the people you want to represent you on all the issues that affect you. These are people who can give you honest, independent, representative advice so make sure you choose the ones who represent your views the best or even better, run for a position yourself.
Use your vote, use your voice; make your choice and be heard.
