Elections
To obtain the positions they hold, each of the Sabbaticals take part in a cross-campus election process. The elections happen every year in march and each position of President, VP Education and Welfare, VP Communications, VP Student Activities and VP Buxton are open to any student.
The election process lasts about two weeks and includes a full week of campaigning, Hustings (public questioning of the candidates) and voting.
If you feel you are the right person to form the executive of the Students' Union, who can become a trustee, represent the student body and satisfy its wide ranging demands then please come along to the Union to find out more or contact the president or drop into our offices to arrange to speak to him in person.
Becoming a sabbatical is a very challenging but highly rewarding experience; the election process alone will develop your skills and confidence. If you are successful you will have the opportunity to put into practise your ideas for the Union and develop your employability.
