Major Changes To Atrium And B Block Link at Kedleston Rd

Important Update from the University:

If you’re coming on to the Kedleston Road site please be aware B block corridor has now been closed off and is inaccessible from the Atrium and the Kirtley Building. This is all part of the works to reconfigure the area near the East tower lifts and outside the library to create additional social learning space and bring student support into the Atrium. This will include turning around the East tower lifts so that you’re able to access them from the Atrium. Lifts will go to all floors (rather than the half floors as previously), giving better access for all to East tower and removing the issue of congestion in the B block corridor. It also includes the revamp of the B block corridor with a new ceiling, lighting and revolving door.

In order to avoid this work we’ll be directing you in through different routes. Please follow the signs which will get you where you need to go. The most affected areas are East tower and B block.

To get to B block (e.g. for assignment submission, EECs, Programme Advisory Service, Student Employment Agency, International Student Centre and all B block floors): please follow the red arrow signs from the Atrium going left up the ramp towards the food area. Turn right at the top towards T block. Instead of turning left to T block head right through the glass doors outside. Walk between the two buildings to the red arrow sign where you can enter B block through the side door. Head down the steps and through the door into the Student Support Centre and turn right where everything should look as it always has!

To get to East tower: please follow the green arrow signs from the Atrium going left up the ramp towards the food area. Turn right at the top towards T block. Turn right again opposite the security office turn into the glass stair well. Take the stairs to the required floor.

NB: Routes to East tower and B block require the ability to use stairs. If you are unable to use the stairs please go to main reception and they will let you know the best route.
 

To get to the Student Wellbeing Service: all services are still located in T block. Any services usually located in B block are being handled in T block.

To get to Kirtley building via atrium: please follow blue arrow signs from the Atrium go towards the library and turn left to the doors that head outside. These doors are open and you can get to the Kirtley building this way.
