Part Time Youth Development Mentor
£6.08 per hour.
Training to take place on 28th and 29th August – between 5 and 15 hours per week from 30th August, Monday to Friday based at the Buxton Campus
The Role
- To act as first point of contact for Further Education (FE) members of the Students’ Union, offering a professional service ensuring a high standard of customer care
- To provide supervision for activities in the Boiler House Common Room
- To organise small scale activities and events to compliment the Buxton College student experience
- To deliver weekly training sessions based on Personal, Social, Health and Careers education in line with the University’s ‘Every Person Matters’ agenda
- To be a role model for the Union’s FE members
- To refer, when necessary, young people in need of advice and support to University/UDSU support services
You Should
- Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels over complex issues
- Posses excellent IT skills including word processing excel and outlook
- Have experience of working with young people, ideally in a youth work/community setting
- Be flexible and have the ability to manage multiple projects
- Have the ability and skills to write and deliver training to groups of young people
- Be a current student at the University of Derby enrolled on an HE course
