Student Media
UDSU is proud to boast 3 highly regarded and professional media services to provide students with news, fun, information and entertainment throughout the year:
The Forums
www.udsuforums.co.uk is the most up-to-date source of information, news and gossip. Running for over two successful years it hosts a wealth of information and a great community made up of Derby students. Open to all, the boards allow you to discuss, gossip and ask UDSU the questions you want. Join up and join in!
Dusted
Dusted is your monthly student publication. It is packed with feature articles, fun, entertainment, pictures and sport. Dusted is compiled by the students — for the students, and is absolutely free.
You can pick up a copy from any of the campuses and it is also delivered to many major venues in town.
The Word
The Word is a monthly newsletter, released in between Dusted – so more for you to read during the month.
There is a dedicated The Word for both of our campuses Derby and Buxton. In this you will find all your entertainment listings for the month ahead, where to be seen and what to do. Alongside this there are also smaller articles, reviews and puzzles, and have you been caught on camera for that month? So take time out of your study and get into The Word.
Available for free from both campuses and all sites in Derby, so make sure you pick up a copy and know what's going on.
D:One
D:One is our very own student radio station. Broadcast live via the internet D:One can be listened by anyone, anywhere making it a worldwide radio station! With Live Broadcasts from 10am til 6pm and some missed shows 6pm—10pm you'll never need another radio station again! As well as this it offers students the opportunity to broadcast their very own radio show, cover news and sports (including live commentaries) as well as that valuable experience that is often a necessity when entering the media industry.
D:One provides a variety of live entertainment, constant stream of music, up to date news and sports, with the added bonus that it is produced and presented by Derby University Students! (Controlled by the Radio Society). It offers a unique listening experience and can be heard not only in and around campus, but from halls, home, and even SUB bar!
