The VPS is a society set up for film makers and has two main aims; to have more videos made and to have videos seen.
We are hear to be a catalyst for every one who wants to be a film maker. So many of us want to be but we all to often settle for being film students or aspiring film makers. Its easy to see why. to start a project can be a difficult and scary ordeal. But fear not, the VPS is here to help.
One of the biggest problems of making films is distribution, getting your video seen. To help deal with this, the engine of the society is social networking. We have a blog on which videos can be embedded as well as a linked facebook page and twitter account to spread the word when a video is uploaded. If each person has ten people who watches their videos, then imagine how many we would have if we group all our audiences together.
As well as distribution, we want to help people find friends and contemporaries who want to also make films. our meetings provide a time and place where people can organise, discuss and join different projects whether they are interested in being a director, cinematographer or a runner. We will also do social events and themed challenges to help people socialise because it doesnt matter if you know who the best camera man is you always want to work with your friends.
