The National Societies Awards is the first national event to credit societies for their contribution to students’ career prospects and experience during their time at university.
The University of Derby’s Imagineers society have been nominated in the ‘Best Hobby and Interest Society’ award which is given to the society that has best represented their hobby or interest to students at their institution or across the country, and covers both competitive and recreational groups.
Amy Horner, Vice-President (Community), said:
“I’m so excited to hear that the Imagineers have been shortlisted for a national award. They’re an amazing group of students who aim to make every student in their society feel welcome, and relaxed.
They collaborate really well with other societies, and even put in a joint team with the Gaming Society for Nationals and came 3rd! Every year this society work hard and I can’t wait to see if they win on the night!”
