Welcome to the home of Union Societies (US) at your Students Union - we boast over 50 student societies, ranging from quidditch to theatre and from 3D printing to bhangra or even airsoft.
Our societies sit in 6 categories: Academic, Active and Performance, Charity and Campaigns, Interest, Religious and Cultural and those based in Buxton and Chesterfield. There's a society for every taste – and if not, you can set one up!
Join US today and make loads of new friends, develop new skills, enhance your CV and discover new hobbies or continue an old one and the most of your time here at Derby.
Why join a society?
If you want to do something different with your time at university and meet new people who share a common interest, then joining a society will be for you.
What do societies do?
This depends a lot on what society you join, and what their focus and priorities are. Listed below are examples of the activities that our societies typically put on:

How much is membership?
In order to purchase society memberships you must first purchase the Union Societies' Pass for £7 (payable once per year) and then pay top up membership fee for each society that you want to join. The top-up membership prices vary depending on the Society, you can go to their minisite or contact the society directly for their price. There is also a full list of prices available during the online joining process.
